Valley Foundation Student Application
Thanks to The Valley Foundation, the OFFICE OF COMMUNITY HEALTH (OCH) sponsors a paid fellowship program of up to three months. The Valley Fellowship program provides medical students with the opportunity to work on community responsive projects that meet a community-identified need in Santa Clara County or Northern San Mateo County, including Federally Qualified Health Centers.
Qualified Applicants Must
Be a current Stanford Medical Student
Possess diverse skillsets and background
Have a desire to shape future healthcare in local and global communities
Meet a specific need identified by the community partner
Be completed within a three (3) month period during the summer months or academic year
Incorporate scholarly research
Focus on service-learning with clear project and learning objectives
Include a research poster presentation at the annual Community Health Symposium-Winter Quarter
Projects proposed by a Community Based Organization (CBO) are preferred. Student-initiated projects will be considered and must have OCH approval.
Earn up to $10,000 (Depending on project requirements, see below for details)
Payment divided in thirds (See below for details)

Purpose: To ensure the success of your Valley Fellowship, OCH will hold periodic meetings to discuss best practices in project development, community partnership collaboration, and topical content. In doing so the following are expected:
1) Attend all meetings
2) Sign a contract between student (you) and the community partner
3) Submit a
monthly progress report
4) Submit a
ort- Due one (1) week after end of contract period
5) Submit project products:
Copies of any products created for your community partner
6) Submit symposium abstract (details, workshops, due date and additional information TBA) and;
7) Present poster at the annual Community Health Symposium-Winter 2017
